One of my fish is missing...

Yeah, that's right. Just totally missing. It's one of the little neons. He's no where in the tank. The tank has a cover, so he couldn't have jumped out. He's not in the filter. Or the pineapple house. He's just no where. It's like the flippin' Twilight Zone. He disappeared a couple of days ago, and I've been checking to see if he'd reappear daily. So far, he has not. All the other fish must have eaten him or something. Weird.

I watched Daddy Day Care today. It's one of those Netflix movies that arrived, and I went, "oh crap, I forgot to check my Netflix list." But it was ok I guess. Dakota Fanning's sister, Elle, was in it. She's really cute, too. Raising Helen was ok also. Both were movies that were entertaining to watch at the time, but nothing to rave about, and I will probably never watch them again.

I can't really think of anything else to say right now. Thursdays are my favourite day though!

Epitaph Thingy

So I did the epitaph thing from Emily's blog, and mine were gay. But Brice's was really good. It won't post here for some reason, but it said, "Brice, I guess this means I'm not really hardcore." HAHAHA

I have to get up early AGAIN tomorrow for class and meetings with teachers...then it's home for napping! I went swimming today because I don't want to be THE laziest girl in the world...anymore. Six-Days-Ago-Me shall hold that title...

Quick Update...

I am sooooo tired, so here's just a quick recap of the past few days of my life...

Saturday I cleaned up my apt a bit. I feel a lot better about myself when I'm in a more organized environment. It's just getting things into a clean/organized state that I have a problem with. But I invited Erin (and Az, naturally) over, and so that became my motivation. We played games, including dominoes and Clue FX. Then she had to get him home and put him to bed because he's tired and he has a lot of studying to do...then why'd he come? Whatever...

Sunday I went to the reptile show and saw cute little baby snakies. They were awesome, and I am set on getting a snake someday. I feel it will be the perfect pet due to the fact that I am not allergic to snakes and also that they are so cool. They are cool because of their lack of feet and because they stick their cute little snakey tongues out all the time. Here's a cute picture of a baby snake from the internet as I failed to remember to take my camera to the reptile show. Oops...

http://ncgeckos.com/baby_corn_snakes.htm, that's where that's from.

Then yesterday sucked, as does every Monday. Not as a function of it being Monday! Just because I have long days. Today sucked too, by the way. Now tomorrow morning (which is usually my morning to sleep in), I have to get up and go to school at 8 a.m. because I'm going to measure sound levels in the NICU. Just another thing I was volunteered for in my "free" time and can't say no to because then everyone will go back to hating me again. Argh...And I can't even go home and go back to bed because then I have to go to the VA and fill out some forms. I talked to someone in HR there today, and I think it's going to be very difficult to squeeze in time to go through orientation over there. They do it at the beginning of the week over there, which to me means: Monday and Tuesday...arrrrrrrgh...I can't even think right now anymore. Goodnight.

I do not get to buy cookies EVER...

I am banning myself from the purchase of cookies. Clearly, I cannot eat them in moderation, as I always plan to. It just never works. I even dropped one into a significant amount of water (i.e. submerged 1/2 of it), and I STILL ate it. What? It's just water...In my defense, they were mint Milanos. Anyways...So, unless someone else has them at their house, I will not be eating purchased cookies. I can still make cookies though because I can always send them to others. And I usually do that. But who sends people boughten cookies? HAHAHA...boughten...

I keep forgetting about this, but something made me remember today (I don't know what): A few weeks ago, I saw on t.v. that they were giving away free Sidewinders Russian Nesting Dolls at baseball games. Because what goes better with America's favourite pasttime than Russian tradition? If this isn't evidence of the One World Order in which we currently find ourselves, then I don't know what is....HAHAHA...no, I just thought it was weird.

This weekend there's a reptile show I want to go to. It's like a gun show, but with reptiles. I am soooo excited to see all the cute little snakies! Also, I saw 2 ads (1 print, 1 non) for Pride and Prejudice, which is at the Arizona Theatre Company. I hope I can find someone who will go see it with me, now that Emily has abondoned me, both physically and in spirit.

Bailando con Las Estrellas...

Yeah I know, two posts in one day...but I just had to post about the Dancing with the Stars: The Dance-Off. Emily didn't seem too excited about it, so I didn't want to waste any energy taping it if she didn't care. So anyways, the show is back briefly before the 2nd season, and I really enjoy watching it. But if it wasn't for the dancing, there's no way in hell I would be singing the praises of this show. Holy crap. Everything else about it sucks! I don't know where they found the brain-dead host and hostess for this show. It must have been a budget issue, but still. I think maybe they should switch places with the camera people because, honestly, I don't see how that switch could end badly. Worst case scenario, they all still suck. What the hell is it with everyone that works on this show? The hosts are idiots, the camera people are busy shooting the spotlights in the ceiling, and the wardrobe people shop at Rave. Nothing has gotten better since the show ended. That damn Lisa Canning is still asking questions that she doesn't let people answer, and now even the announcer either can't read or doesn't have a script. And all he has to say is, "This is Dancing with the Stars!" It comes out, "This is uh, Dancing with the Stars?" Not that bad, but almost. Plus I think the producers make the stars say things on purpose. Like, the damn Lisa Canning asked John how important it was that he won and he was like, "Oh, I just love dancing. I would come back and do this everyday; it's so fun!" Then she asked him again later in the show, and he was like, "So important!! I don't know why this is so important to me, but I think about how I was robbed, like, everyday!!" Ugh.

As for the dancing: it's such a fun show to watch. I can really get into anything that I can lend a critical eye to and pretend I'm an expert in such an area. Afterall, my best friend WAS a ballroom dance instructor for, like, almost a whole year...The first round was Latin dancing. Kelly did better than John. She danced the cha-cha, which I love, and he did the rumba, which never really impresses me anyways. Then for the smooth dances she did the quickstep and he did the waltz, and he really blew her away. The judges thought so too because they finally gave him his perfect score that he had so deserved many times (hey if they gave one to Kelly for that trainwreck last time...) Then there was a freestyle round, which sucked out for both. For this show though, the judges scores did not count, only phone call voting counted. Tonight was the results show, which was interesting because it put a lot in perspective. And by "a lot" I mean ballroom dancing. They had Alec and Edyta dance together, and Charlotte danced with the national champion or something, and wow...Professional dancers are soooooo much better than amateurs. I know it's obvious, but if you've just been watching amateurs for so long, you kind of forget. It was amazing how everything looked perfect when the professionals did it. Anyways, I guess the votes were really close, like only 1% apart, but John won.

Ok...

You are a
Social Liberal (68% permissive)and an...
Economic Conservative (65% permissive)You are best described as a:
Libertarian: You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness.

Good. That's the best one.

Political Test

I tried the link on Emily's page: hyperion99.blogspot.com for the political test she took, but the link didn't work. So I went looking for more political quizzes and found this one:

http://www.moral-politics.com/xpolitics.aspx?menu=Home

Your Score
Your scored 1.5 on the Moral Order axis and -3.5 on the Moral Rules axis.

Ideologies: Capital Republicanism
US Parties: Republican Party
Presidents: Richard Nixon (95.06%)
2004 Election Candidates: George W. Bush (83.17%), John Kerry (79.04%), Ralph Nader (61.35%)
Statistics
Of the 112347 people who took the test:
0.7% had the same score as you.
67.7% were above you on the chart.
26.7% were below you on the chart.
22.5% were to your right on the chart.
71.6% were to your left on the chart.

To know what all that means, I guess you'll have to go there and read all the stuff. All I know is that I fall in the Protestant box! Woo hoo! In your face Catholicism.

Upon taking various other quizzes at tickle.com, I also learned that I can't get any cooler, I am an indulgent eater, my financial theme song is "She Works Hard for the Money," and that's as far as I got before the site started freezing up on me. Argh. The stupid internet. And I really wanted to know what movie I was.

Good thing for the day: No class tomorrow!

Slothy Sarah's Lazy Day(s)...

I guess you could say I accomplished a lot this weekend...if you think about all the phone talking, online game playing, and t.v. watching I did. Oh, and eating. However if, to you, accomplishment need to include leaving the apt., then I guess I haven't really accomplished much. Or anything. Also, I feel like Emily in that I have these checks to put into my bank account, and they're...somewhere...? I don't know what's my deal. BUT tomorrow is New Leaf Day. Starting with tonight when I go to bed early enough to accomplish tasks tomorrow. As we all know, Mondays are my long day. So are Tuesdays. Soon it shall be Hump Day though! Hump hump hump...

I talked to Jason last night, and here are some pictures he sent me. Here is a picture of Jason and his dog:

Here is a picture of Jason's girlfriend, who's way cuter than some other people's girlfriends who shall remain nameless:

I'm going to go find and deposit my checks now. Any buy a milkshake before New Leaf Day...

So tired...

I am so tired right now, but I wanted to post asap before I forgot all the stuff I wanted to say.

1. Phil Villareal was on the radio during my drive home. On the rap/hiphop station. I vaguely remember Emily saying something about him (she didn't like him?). I know he writes for the paper. I know he reviews movies. So I think he's the loser that reviews old favourites, like Top Gun or something like that. Anyways, I hope he's the guy that I'm thinking of because if so, I can see why Emily hates him. What a no-talent hack. Who lets him write, or even say, anything? He should not be allowed to express himself through neither written nor spoken language. Maybe I'm just spoiled by a.) Emily's movie reviews or b.) real movie reviewers, but I don't think so. I think it's just that he sucks. He was on the radio talking about what movies that are being released this week are good/bad. Basically, he's just like, "This movie's bad. Really bad. I can't believe it was even released. Synopsis of movie sans witty commentary." If you're a movie reviewer and you're just going to be like that, just give me some stars. Just say, "I give this movie 1 star, and I'm not allowed to express myself in neither written nor spoken language." Actually, just hold up a notecard with a star on it or something. Or maybe just become a computer programmer and get out of movie reviewing all together. I feel like I'm not expressing myself very well either...like I'm pulling a "Phil Villareal" here or something, but remember I'm tired (see above) AND I don't do this for money, like he presumably does.

2. The advertisements on university shuttles always provide something to think about for the passenger. I think a lot of times, whoever puts them there may be forgetting that once you put them there, other people can read them. That's the only excuse I can think of for some of them being up there, like, someone was like, "Hm...where can I store this piece of crap? On the shuttle?" Because if they really want someone to see these advertisements, they need to go back to advertising school or something. I know the "Pregnant? We Can Help" ads are necessary, and I even see the need for "Sell Back Your Textbooks to Us" ads. Since the beginning of this year though, there are what seem to be ads for the U of AZ on the shuttles. First of all, we all already go here. More importantly, though, if I didn't go to the U of A, I sure wouldn't be choosing this school based on THESE signs. "Before McDonalds. Before Burger King. Before Dairy Queen. BEFORE KRISPY KREME. There was the University of Arizona." Wow. I was going to get some fries, but after reading that, I think I'll go to college instead. Do they realize that they're not actually competing with these fast food chains? I think what they're trying to do is create nostalgia or something, but none of the students remember back that far anyways (cause they weren't born yet). All they succeed in doing with these ads is making fat people hungry and pissing ME off...and making me a little hungry...There's also evidence of the U of A's confusion as to whether or not they're competing with radios and colour television sets on another shuttle.

3. Preston, I found out yesterday, is being airlifted to Austin today. I was going to go visit him today, but I guess I'm not now. I'm sad, too, cause I really wanted to play Simpsons Life. I called him yesterday, and he didn't really seem too interested in talking to me, which also made me a little sad, but I hope he gets better and I hear from him soon. Meanwhile, it would be nice if his sister would email me back...

If any or all of my rantings don't seem to make sense to you, remember I'm tired. So just call me for clarification. Or just call me. I'm lonely.

Good thing for the day: Nap time is from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. ...Oh crap I'm missing nap time!

Things I Learned in Pharmacology...

So I learned some interesting things in pharmacology today regarding birth control. First of all, I have been wanting to ask why antibiotics make birth control less effective. Today I got my chance. It's because the antibiotics cause the liver to be overactively producing enzymes, which break down birth control. The same thing happens with excess alcohol. I guess that's why a lot of drunk party girls on birth control somehow end up pregnant. I guess St. John's Wort does the same thing, too. I guess that's why a lot of depressed, holistic, hippie girls on birth control end up pregnant...?

Also, birth control displaces thyroid hormone, like, FROM the thyroid INTO the blood. So, a person with a normally functioning thyroid, when blood is tested, will look like someone with an overactive thyroid. That explains why when my thyroid was tested, it looked normal. Stupid doctors. I knew I had hypothyroidism. There's no way I can be this fat and lazy on my own. Since I was on birth control when they tested my blood for thyroid hormone, it looked as though my thyroid was normal due to the displacement into the blood by the BCP. Then the professor said that birth control is a treatment for mild hypothyroidism. So, I guess I'm already being treated for it somewhat? I guess I am fat and lazy on my own. I still think it has to have a little to do with my thyroid, right? Because I am on the very low end of normal. Also, I think I read somewhere that birth control takes vitamin B out of one's body. I guess I'll keep taking my vitamins, including calcium by the way...

Good thing for the day: Three Netflix arrived today! Woo hoo!

13 September 2005

Procrastination....

I have lots to do. Lots and lots. But I shan't be doing it tonight. What a long freakin' day. I'd like to give a special shout out to Erin (who doesn't read this B-Log, by the way) and thank her for volunteering me to help out teaching the lab to Speechies tonight. That was way cool, since I was wondering how, even though I don't get paid as a T.A., I would get to help out anyways. Plus, I love it when I have to get to school at 8 a.m. and don't get to leave until 6 p.m. It's great! Yesterday was long and sucky as well. That's why I've been sleeping/dicking around since I got home. Amber was going to come over, but she had to study for the Praxis. She wanted me to come over to her apt. Once I got home though, there was no leaving this place. I fell asleep as soon as I got home anyways...

Stuff to do tomorrow: Wake up in the actual a.m. (as in, NOT p.m.), read for class, go to class, buy water (maybe), fill out V.A. forms and email them, order graduation picture online and ask my mom to send me her pictures, do homework for speech class, and do something re: my plan of study. See? I have lots to do.

Good thing for the day: J. Ray's letter from DQ was quite hilarious.

Ok Fine, I'll Update...

So I haven't posted in a while. That's only because I haven't wanted to. I feel like I have nothing to say, and when I feel that way, it makes me not want to post. In actuality, I suppose I can think of something to say. I was EXHAUSTED today. I don't really know why. Maybe from driving. I went up to Scottsdale to see Preston, and he's doing much better. I won't go back up until next weekend, and then I'll bring board games! Yes! Someone to play board games with. He may not want to, but it's recommended as therapy. I asked if he wanted to play Mexican Train Dominoes or Scrabble, and he said no to both. But to Simpson's Life, he said "maybe." Simpsons life it is! Maybe I'll bring Mexican Train Dominoes just in case. I don't think enough people realize how fun dominoes are. I know I didn't before. I know that there're versions of dominoes that involve math, and those I assume are mathy and therefore sucky. BUT there's nothing mathy about Mexican Train, so go out and buy it everyone!

Joanna was telling this hilarious story, prefaced by how she hates kids (me too!!), about how this kid in JC Penney's had been licking his hands for some stupid unknown reason and then he walked up to her and was like, "Hey Lady, take me to the bathroom." And she was like, "Um, where's your mom?" And he was like, "I don't have a mom, and my dad's in jail. My aunt's somewhere in the store. Take me to the bathroom. I really have to go." Needless to say, she did not take him to the bathroom, but the story was funny enough as it was.

Well work was the suckiest it's been ever today. I did nothing but watch BC-W mess around on the computer because she can never find what program she wants and then mess around with OAEs. It was "like watching grass grow," as she says. If she knows it's like watching grass grow, why doesn't she give me something to do? Tomorrow should be even better, since it's a full day of probably the same. Atleast Angie will be there to keep me company tomorrow...and we have atleast 1 baby to test, but not until 2 pm.

Being that I have class at 8 am and a long, potentially boring day tomorrow, I'm gonna go to bed. So much for making lunch for tomorrow as planned. Oh well. I guess there will be no eating tomorrow either.

Good thing for the day: The 2 hour nap I had when I got home from stupid, gay school.

Preston

I don't feel like B-Logging right now, but it's been requested that I do so. I'm just gonna post these pictures in honor of Preston. They're pretty old, but I don't have any more recent. His face is all gashed up cause he fell and hit his face on the paved ground I think.

Here's to his recovery, which I'm sure will be a full one for Mr. Born-Under-A-Lucky-Star.

New B-Log

I've changed my B-Log location for 2 main reasons. Reason the first: because loser Emily won't sign into myspace on a regular basis, which is so narcissistic. Come on, who's checking your myspace profile daily and counting the days you sign in? Reason 2: I can't post pictures directly onto my B-Log. That being said, here's a picture:

And here's another:

See how I need to lose weight? Anyways, this picture-in-B-Log "bizzo" is the greatest thing since bread came sliced. Though, the 2nd one did take much longer to load than the first. But no more worries about my pictures being too big, and no more wondering how to make them smaller. Nice!

I was just thinking. One doesn't actually have to be a member of myspace to view my B-Log there. Emily could actually go to myspace without signing in and read my B-Log there. I think she's just a whore for B-Logger. Well, the uploading pictures thing is reason enough, I guess.

Today I have to: write clinic report, write "stimuli" section of "methods," read more pharmacology, buy binders, buy other stuff, and get skinny. Exhausting day ahead; better get started. I think I shall start with eating. I know it's not on the list per se, but it was implied. Also, I must post on myspace that my B-Log has relocated. I guess I won't be visiting myspace as often either. That's it! She's anti-myspace. I'm myspace indifferent. So I guess, in effect, she's won a small battle again myspace. Oh well.

Good thing for the day: Much of pharmacology is read.
